Those were the words of Candidate Barrack Obama in late October of 2008 when talking with the then anonymous Joe. Today you have no doubt heard about "Joe the Plumber". But I want to focus on those four words, "spread the wealth around". This of course means raise taxes on the wealthy, the successful and hard working of our nation and give that money to the "poor", the welfare recipients of our nation.
Why do we want to punish those in our country who are hard-working, industrious, and are willing to take risks and begin a new business? Why is that so wrong that we must punish these individuals? If we continue to spread the wealth around, then we take away all insentive for regular people like you and me to get up and make a living for ourselves and for our families every week.
Nobody has ever said that work is fun. As my dad told me me, when I was griping about my first job, "that is why they pay you to show up and why they call it work and not fun." But work is honorable. Nobody ever grows up saying I hope to be lazy and live on welfare. But a spread the wealth mentality will encourage just that.
Taking money from the successful and the small business owner simply handcuffs them, and discourages them from taking risks and staring new businesses and diminshes jobs as they have to pay more taxes. Higher taxes equals fewer jobs, check your history relating to tax increases and job creation, they do not coexist.
Here is an idea if Mr. Obama and liberals want to spread the wealth, how about take off all restrictions for all business owners to do their job to the best of their ability. How about lower taxes for business owners and private individuals this would allow them to create more jobs and would allow private individuals to hire other people; contractors to do long anticipated remodeling, or maids, or someone to cut their lawn. Now that is my kind of spreading the wealth around!

Kyle, I could not agree more. I look forward to watching this blog and adding my comments where I feel the need. Hope all is well in your world... Although I can't think of a reason why it would not be.... Tell the rest we said howdy. If I can find the prayer that was sent to me recently I will forward it. It ran along these same lines.
T
AMEN!
Funny thing!! I was standing in line to early vote along with about 25 other and as I looked around I noticed I was the only young adult in line. Everyone else was at the retired age. Out of the 25+ people standing there in line 15 of them passed by and would make some sort of comment. Well I had my little guy with me and all of them would say something along the lines of
"son I wish we could do more for you" . As I went home I was thinking long and hard wondering why everyone was talking to my little guy?? Do they all know something I don't? It wasn't until Monday I relized what they were all talking about, with the help of a lady in HEB. She was talking to him and he would just smile, but she said "I hope that all of our prayers will not go unheard and the right man will be looking out for you and all of our futures." We are all caught up with who is the right person for the job!! But after she said that I thought she slapping me silly!! Only one person is incharge and only one person can do the job!! Just follow his lead and you will be on the right path!! Funny how we get reminded of things!! Place your trust in him and all things will be added unto you!!! Sometimes we have to step back and look out for ourselves/our own families not what is best for everyone else. THE GOOD LORD will take care of us not the president.
